Mark Twain Quote

"Sufficient unto the day is one baby. As long as you are in your right mind don't you ever pray for twins. Twins amount to a permanent riot; and there ain't any real difference between triplets and an insurrection." Mark Twain, 1879

Sunday Morning: Balloon or Candy?

No eggs in the fridge, no juice either.  So
An early morning run to the supermarket and
Oh my goodness, triplets!  Here,
Free balloons.

Bap-oom, Lady.
Bap-ooom, Lady.
Bap-ooom, Lady.
You're welcome.
So precious.

The strawberry lollipop tied to the end
Keeps the balloon from going bye-bye.  But
You want the lollipop?
Sure?

You can't have your balloon
And eat your candy, too.

Poppy-pop nee-nee!
Fine, Lollipop candy it is.

Sometimes you have to Let Go
Something good
To get something even better.
At least you can visit boom-boon
For now.

  1. Seems as though there's a metaphor for life in there somewhere. But I'm too busy with my lollipop to figure it out.

  2. Mine would not tolerate that choice thing. We'd have lollipops and the damn balloons.
